It is clear that the Israeli-Saudi coordination is not limited to the battlefield. According to the experts, this is being developed on the political front as well. Furthermore, after concluding of the Geneva Agreement on the November 24 of this year, after negotiations inthe format of “five plus one” and Iran on the parameters of the Iranian nuclear activities during the transition period, the Israeli-Saudi coordination, according to experts, has acquired another dimension. Washington now desperately needs a break to restart its economy, to reset its military and political machine for the confrontation with Beijing, quickly growing in strength. It seems that Tel Aviv and Riyadh are in no hurry to give the US a helping hand. Israel is strongly inhibiting Israeli-Palestinian negotiations, launched in August of this year and sponsored by the United States – thus preventing the attainment of a mutually acceptable peace agreement with the Palestinians. While Riyadh, as world media states, continues to form new groups to overthrow the regime of Bashar al-Assad (now called the “Islamic Front”) for allegedly fighting both against the Syrian regime and Al- Qaeda. This naturally weakens the joint efforts of Moscow and Washington aimed at the upcoming conference on Syria in Montreux, which should start on January 22, 2014. In parallel, Israel and KSA seem to be using all their considerable lobbying power to torpedo the possibility of an agreement on the final settlement of the Iranian nuclear programme through the Europeans(primarily the French), as well as their friends in the U.S. Congress. These efforts are already affecting the toughening of the positions of Washington and the Europeans in the negotiations with the Iranians, which is leading to a sharp reaction fromTehran.

In September of this year, Washington had the courage toresist the pressure of its Middle Eastern allies, “aimed” at the endless confrontation with Iran, to defend its own national interests, which, incidentally, coincided with the interests of most of the world, and as a result, it saw success in both the Syrian and Iranian directions. Does the White House have this courage now?

Is Assad the biggest recruiting seargant for the revolution and in particular the extremists?

I say yes.

People (incl Jimmy Carter) are talking about Assad staying, rehabilitating him and even proposing the unrealistic suggestion that the opposition should join hands with Assad to fight the extremists.

Assad’s presence and response to the uprising from day one has only pushed syrians to join the struggle and encouraged foreign fighters and extremists to head to Syria after seeing the horror on the TV screens.

What do you think the current horrific barrel bomb onslaught on Aleppo and elsewhere is going to achieve? It’s only gonna provoke the people of the targeted areas to join the fight against Assad and with pictures of the aftermath of these barrel bomb attacks beamed across the region even more foreign fighters and extremists will be caused to join the fight.

Don’t blame the revolution. Assad is the root cause. Like others have said (incl. Tara) the extremists can be dealt with later.

There is something that has been happening to me for the last 2 years. I would like to know if someone experienced the same.

When I call to someone I know in rebel areas which are out of Syriatel coverage (Daraa, Qalamoun, Edlib) and even disconnected by the state, although I know there is no coverage, I keep on trying in the expectation and line could return, normally there is no signal but sometimes it happens that the phone rings and a voice of a woman answer. She speaks asking ¨who calls¨, Ï cannot hear¨, ¨who are you¨. etc. then she smiles, and repeat same kind of sentences. I have tested many times and got to the conclusion that it is a registered system that works automatically.

It has been designed to create confussion among people and to create chaos while letting people stop searching for relatives, beloved and friends in rebel areas.

First times I thought there was a problema with the line but finally I discovered it is a system ideated by the regime.

They not only control Al Qaeda members coming from Chechnia and Afganistan, they also create total chaos and desperation among isolated populations.

And they will soon be landfill, Santa Claus-willing.

Each night I read comments from random westerners who have chosen an arbitrary cause to support, I scratch my head in wonderment of the pure ignorance.

I was reading a Salafi type forum yesterday and saw a lot of criticism and tough questions (theological, ideological etc) thrown at ISIS.

The one or two who tried to argue on behalf of ISIS really struggled.

Today the discussion has continued and it’s not looking good for ISIS.

People have questioned how the hell are they a ‘state’?

Also asking how they can proclaim a state without local consent?

Who gave them authority?

Their torture and killing of a rebel leader has been siezed on and ISIS defenders are struggling to make any defence.

It seems other rebel factions and protests are targeting ISIS and this could be the beginning of the end for them. I hope so anyway. Even heard they destroyed a Sufi shrine the other day.

George Galloway paid £80k for joining ‘pro-Syria’ TV channel

Galloway, who once described President Assad’s regime as “the last bastion of Arab dignity”, has started presenting a fortnightly show, A Free Word, for the Beirut-based broadcaster al-Mayadeen.

According to the Register of Members’ Interests, Galloway will earn £3,000 an episode – or a yearly income of £78,000 – on top of his MP’s salary. The TV station will also cover the cost of regular trips to Lebanon to pre-record the programme.

The question is how the Assad regime will respond to calls for a power sharing agreement and an Assad-free Syria when all eyes are on Islamist terrorists and rebels are on the retreat. I think that a large segment of the opposition signed their own political death certificate when they chose to copy the regime’s violent methods and allowed foreign jihadists to desecrate Syria’s hospitable and beautiful land.
